On November 14th, 2022 around 80 volunteers from Holidays and Heroes assembled at Tarrant Area Food Bank to sort through and create the Thanksgiving Meal Boxes for our military families at NAS JRB Fort Worth.
This event took your donation dollars from 2021 and put them into action. With our 501(c)3 status and the immense resources of the Tarrant Area Food Bank, we were able to take $40,000 plus an additional $5,000 from Congresswoman Kay Granger and provide 500 families with over 45,000 pounds of food this Thanksgiving.
Our volunteers were so efficient, that we finished our 500 boxes in record time. So Tarrant Area Food Bank put us to work to create.... 1,800 boxes through our two shifts. Holidays and Heroes made a huge impact with fighting food insecurity within our junior enlisted ranks on base and throughout the whole Tarrant County area!
